Whether you are hoping for an outdoor, relaxed photo session, or a more posed studio session, together we will plan the perfect St. Louis family photo session to capture what makes your family unique.
I want you to have a stress-free and fun family photo experience. My family clients all receive access to my client closet of carefully curated gowns for moms and girls, expert planning and styling, and a session reveal to help choose your images and heirlooms. Moms also have the option of adding hair and makeup by one of my favorite hair and makeup artists. All my clients take home archival artwork to display in their home!

Everything begins with a quick conversation! I want to know all the details you are envisioning for your family photo session! We'll chat, see if we are a good fit, and schedule your planning consultation.
1. Say Hello
Next, we'll meet for a planning consultation. This will happen in the comfort of your own home or you may come to my studio. We'll get to know each other and plan your dream session!
You will have the opportunity to look through my client closet of designer gowns, flip through my curated collection of heirloom albums and folio boxes, and check out beautiful, archival wall art.
We will choose colors and location, plan outfits for everyone, and start deciding how and where you would like to display your photos. This is when you will reserve your session date.
2. planning consultation
We will have a super fun, relaxed family photo session! Whether you have chosen studio or on location, I will guide you through posing to ensure your family looks like their best authentic selves. I always have tricks and snacks on hand to help the little ones enjoy the session!
Family sessions may take place at my studio or at a location around the St. Louis area.
3. your session
Now for the fun part! You'll come back in for your viewing and ordering appointment. This is when you will see your photos for the very first time and choose your heirlooms!
4. choose your heirlooms
So exciting! You will return in 4-6 weeks to view and pick up your artwork! Once everything has arrived and been hand inspected, I will contact you to set up your appointment.

Sutherland Photography offers only archival quality prints, canvases, and albums. Your session fee is $250. Artwork is available a la carte, so you only buy what you love!
